Paperless document workflow
Today, in the century of information technologies, electronic document management systems become one of the most appreciable tendencies in innovative development of the organizations. It’s not casual. After computers, networks (including the Internet), the newest programs have been introduced in corporate systems, there has come the turn of the most important thing i.e. document workflow.
Since the oldest time paper document was the basis of all possible transactions: at first it was the papyrus, then parchment, then a paper. The paper document became the basis of business and official relations. Sometimes it was impossible to separate person from the document he had (for example, passport) that have led to occurrence of well-known Soviet phrase «You’re a small insect without a piece of paper».
The paper document became not only the most powerful tool of people relations and organizations (as well also the whole states) but also the original owner which the person destiny could depend on. You can just image what the person (organization) could wait if he (it) lost (spoilt, etc.) the document. As the paper, owing to the gentle properties, in every possible way “promoted” it: a thin, a fragile, a snow-white material, the paper’s created as if to live quickly and to “die” transiently. Now the times are changin’.
The system varies in many respects. We don’t want to say the document workflow is leaving and becoming useless. Modern development is faster and demands from the document workflow of more effective functioning, for human kind interests. Now the person is not a “small insect”. He doesn’t depend on a piece of paper.
But the dependence on paper document workflow also decreases thanks to such innovation as introduction of modern computer techniques and its main result i.e. paperless document workflow. However, paperless document workflow is a theme of our next articles.
